The manufacture of consumer electronics has far-reaching effects on people, the environment and the climate. From the mining of rare earths to the disposal of toxic materials, every stage of the product life cycle leaves traces that are often overlooked.
Closing the loop means looking at all aspects of the production and use of electronic products – from raw material extraction to disposal. A prepaid repair fee allows these true costs to be included in the purchase price. This not only covers the cost of repairs, but also the potential future damage and impact on the environment and climate.
